After applying the CLR for approximately 1-2 minutes, gently rub the hard water area with the scrubber to remove the stains and wipe with a soft sponge or cloth. Be sure to thoroughly wash the toilet bowl, preferably with clear water (cold to lukewarm only) with about 3 gallons of water to remove the residue. For more stubborn buildup of mineral deposits you can also use a pumice stone such as a Pumie brand toilet bowl cleaner While you are cleaning the hard water stains in your bowl, you may want to take the time to remove the build-up from your rim holes. Take a needle or a small (aluminum) nail and carefully insert it into each rim hole to remove the hard water that will also collect there.
