About Toilet Bowl Plungers
The bathroom is a room that requires an extra level of hygiene, especially around the toilet. Plungers are one of the most essential bathroom accessories. A plunger is especially important in a restroom that sees frequent use.
What Is a Plunger?
The plunger is a common household device that is used to release stoppages in plumbing. It can be used to accomplish this unclog a sink or bathtub as well (though we recommend having a separate plunger for that). A plunger consists of a rubber cap with an attached shaft made of either wood or plastic. There are two styles of toilet bowl plunger available on the market, the standard cup and the flange.
How to Use a Plunger on a Clogged Sink, Tub or Shower
- Use a standard cup plunger
- Securely cover and seal the overflow drain with a wet rag or cloth
- Place it over the drain while completely covering the drain opening
- Push down on the plunger with quick, forceful thrusts. Repeat for 15 to 20 seconds
How to Use a Plunger on a Clogged Toilet
- Use a flange type plunger
- Drape a towel over and around the toilet bowl in order to catch any backsplash
- Place it in the bowl so that the drain opening is completely covered
- Push down on the plunger with quick, forceful thrusts. Repeat for 15 to 20 seconds
The best way for a toilet plunger to work effectively is if there is water in the pipe. Water does not compress and will, therefore, transmit more of the applied force than air. When a plunger doesn’t quite get the job done, a chemical drain cleaner or a plumber’s snake will need to be implemented.
About Toilet Bowl Brushes
Here at PlumbersStock, we offer a couple of different options for toilet brushes. Housework is a tedious chore. From vacuuming the stairs to dusting the blinds, there is nothing fun about cleaning a house. The worst part of housework is cleaning the bathrooms, the toilets to be exact. We don’t know of anyone who enjoys cleaning a toilet and we especially can’t imagine anyone who enjoys scrubbing with yellow gloves and a sponge. The long handles make it possible for the user to clean the toilet bowl without kneeling down.
The toilet bowl brush is made of plastic bristles that will scrub away grime without damaging the porcelain. We carry brushes from Danze and Grohe. Nobody wants to see the bush sitting on the floor, or reach for it under the sink. Each unit comes equipped with a toilet brush holder and mounting hardware in order to attach it to the bathroom wall.
