What Is Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration?

Reverse Osmosis (RO) water filtration is a highly effective process that removes impurities from water. It utilizes a semi-permeable membrane to separate contaminants, such as minerals, heavy metals, and microorganisms, from the water molecules. Pressure is applied to force water through the membrane, allowing only pure water to pass through. The result is exceptionally clean and purified water, making RO a popular choice for improving water quality in homes and businesses.

Let’s delve into the critical features of this exciting release.

Water Filtration Systems:

Moen’s commitment to providing clean, safe water takes center stage with introducing the 4-stage RO advanced water filtration systems. Ideal for under-sink installations, these systems employ state-of-the-art technology to purify water at multiple levels. This ensures the removal of impurities, contaminants, and even microorganisms. Homeowners can now enjoy peace of mind, knowing that the water they use for cooking and drinking is of the highest quality.

    • Hello, Karen! Thank you for your interest in Moen’s Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration Systems. Moen’s 4-stage reverse osmosis systems are designed to effectively reduce over 95% of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS). These substances are part of a group of synthetic chemicals known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are notorious for their persistence in the environment and the human body. PFAS can accumulate over time, leading to potential health risks.

In addition to PFAS, this filtration system is highly effective at reducing a wide array of other contaminants, including arsenic, fluoride, total dissolved solids (TDS), bacteria, viruses, lead, mercury, chlorine, and pharmaceuticals, by less than, greater than, or equal to 95%. For more detailed information on the technical results of water contaminants being removed using this filtration system, you can refer to pages 16–19 of Moen’s F9900 installation manual. This section includes the performance data sheet for the F9900 filtration system, which uses F9910, F9920, F9930, and F9940 filters.‌
When choosing the right water filtration system for you and your loved ones, consider the following factors:

Household Size: Larger households typically require systems with higher capacity to ensure a sufficient supply of filtered water for all members.
Home Ownership: Renters might prefer portable or non-permanent filtration solutions that can be easily removed and transported. Homeowners might opt for more permanent installations.
Property Age: Older properties may have outdated plumbing, which could influence the type of filtration system you need.
Water Supply Source: If your water comes from a municipal supply, focus on reducing chlorine, fluoride, and other common additives. For well water, consider systems that target specific contaminants like iron, bacteria, and nitrates.
Available Space: Some systems are more compact and easier to install in tight spaces, while others might require more room and professional installation.

By considering these factors, you can choose a water filtration system that not only provides high-quality, safe drinking water but also integrates well with your lifestyle and home setup. Moen’s Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration Systems offer versatile solutions to match different needs, ensuring you find the perfect fit for your household.
