The Broan-NuTone RDMWT2 radiation damper safeguards your building by preventing fire from spreading through the HVAC system. Designed for use in fire-rated floor-ceiling and roof-ceiling assemblies, it effectively limits the transfer of radiant heat through air vents, preventing the spread of fire to adjacent areas. It is UL Classified (UL555C) and meets NFPA-90A standards, ensuring reliable performance in emergency situations. The damper is compatible with a wide range of UL/cUL Listed floor-ceiling and roof-ceiling assemblies (L521, L528, L546, L558, L562, L574, L576, L581, L583, L585, P522, P533, P538, P545, and P547) when installed according to provided instructions.
Constructed with durability and serviceability in mind, this damper features stainless steel closure springs, a 165˚ F fusible link, and a galvanized steel frame. A separate outer frame allows for easy access to the fan and damper for maintenance or replacement without disturbing the surrounding ceiling. The comprehensive kit includes the radiation damper, a 4-inch round metal damper/duct connector, mounting support bars, plaster supports, a motor mounting bracket, and a light jumper cable, streamlining the installation process.
