About Motor Run Capacitors
As you probably already know, electrical run capacitors are important in pumps, HVAC-R applications, and more. Their role is to alter the current. This creates a rotating magnetic field within single-phase induction motors. The start capacitor fires the motor up and then hands the work off to the run capacitor because it operates more efficiently. When shopping for a capacitor, note that MFD is an abbreviation for Microfarad (a millionth of a Farad), which measures the capacitor's capacity.
Get the right body type and voltage AC capacitor. Single-section capacitors are affordable. Tried and true, dual-motor run capacitors can support two motors because they house two capacitors in one body.
