Save on 4-Inch Type K Copper Pipe at PlumbersStock. The pipe measures 4 Inches in nominal size with an outside diameter of 4-1/8 inches. It is shipped in 5-foot lengths maximum, which makes it great for smaller applications that require a shorter distance of pipe. It is important to note that this pipe will use 4-inch fittings such as Copper (soldering required in most cases), Flare, Crimped/Pressed (power crimper necessary), or Compression connection fittings.Â
This particular copper pipe is type K, which has the thickest walls of all copper pipes in the United States. Its thickness allows it to be buried, even under a street or sidewalk due to it being able to withstand more pressure. Note: Before burying copper pipe, it is necessary to know what is required per code. In most cases, a polyethylene sleeve or a protective coating is required for burying copper pipe. Copper pipe applications may include a refrigerant line in your Heating, Cooling, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System or as supply lines for hot and cold tap water.Â
NOTE: Due to shipping regulations five-foot sections are the maximum length shipped in straight pipe. If Longer lengths are required coiled pipe is another available option. 4" Type K Copper Pipe is shipped in 5-foot lengths maximum.
