Hi, there! Thank you for posting a question at PlumbersStock.com. It is a good idea to start off with the valves in the "Off" position, that way you can check your system connections before the valve itself. Once you're sure that the connections are all leak free and want to test the water supply throughout your system, then you can turn the isolation valve in an "On" position And check connections beyond the valve. Isolation valves are mostly used for maintenance and safety shut offs, so using them in this manner will be the most beneficial. I Hope this helps. Thank you and we hope to see you again here at PlumbersStock.com!
Howdy! Thank you for posting your query about the Toro 53300 pressure vacuum breaker. There are many possible causes of the leak. This condition may be caused by freezing temperatures or debris inside the unit. The best possible action to do right now is to shut-off the inlet and the outlet ball valves then remove the bonnet assembly by hand followed by the o-ring and the vent assembly. After this, remove the check assembly then install the disk assembly and ensure that the fins are placed securely inside the seat. Next, reinstall the check assembly, the vent, the o-ring, and the bonnet cap. Lastly, open the inlet and outlet ball valve again. You may refer to this troubleshooting video for more information.
