10 x 10 x 6 Inch Mechanical Joint Tee Fitting, Ductile Iron Construction. This particular fitting is a Tee Fitting for Ductile Iron Pipe applications that features Mechanical Joint connections. A tee is an important fitting as it is used in order to connect three sections of iron pipes allowing you to connect two different pipes into one. The fitting gets its Tee name from its shape as it resembles the letter “T”. If you were to look at this tee head on in a “T” shape the connections on either side measure 10 inches nominal size and the middle connection measuring 6 inches nominal size. Its connections on either end feature “mechanical joint” style connections which have machine drilled holes for proper installation. The mechanical joint utilizes a nut and bolt system, and depending on the size of the pipe, there will be more bolts required for a secure connection.
